U.S. Congressman Mike Pence issued the following statement today regarding the reading of the Constitution on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives:

"The Constitution of the United States is our national charter and it is the cornerstone of our Republic. At the outset of a new Congress, it is altogether fitting that the people's representatives would take time to solemnly read and reflect on the wisdom of our Founders as we seek to return our national government to the principles of limited government enshrined therein."
